Sat 22nd Feb 2014 – Extra Training Day on Soil and Composting at the inspiring Skip Garden in Kings Cross

We hope you’ll come along to this hands on workshop to learn about soils,  their origins and types, and how you can identify what’s in your garden. We will also cover the relationship between plants and soils and soil microbes.

The workshop will continue in the afternoon to look at Composting & Wormeries looking at how these two systems work to produce rich organic soils and some tips to get the most from them in your garden or outdoor space.

All this in the inspiring surroundings of the Skip Garden at Kings Cross.

The day will also include a discussion on What’s Next for the Master Gardener programme? an update on future funding, as the current programme will be coming to an end in March, and so we will share ideas on further opportunities for volunteering.

And of course, we will be celebrating the achievements of the last 3 years of the Master Gardener programme with cake!

The day will run from 11.00-4.30pm, with plenty of interactive elements and opportunities to ask questions.

Handouts will be provided and plans for an open composter will be available on demand. You will also receive a selection of complimentary organic seeds to take home to start the growing season.
